About the asset
In August 2024, BW Energy acquired approximately 6.6% of the common shares in Reconnaissance Energy Africa Ltd. and a 20% non-operating interest in the onshore exploration licence PEL 73. Ownership in Reconnaissance Energy Africa was increased to 6.96% after capital raises in 2025 and 2026.
In 2024, one exploration well was drilled in the Damara Fold Belt Basin, and in 2025 a second exploration well was drilled in the Kavango Rift Basin. Further exploration and appraisal drilling is being assessed.
